I have extensive experience providing consultation, supervision, training, and workshops to other professionals in the field or interested organizations.
One of my areas of expertise is how to navigate a clinical relationship when the therapists body and/or health impacts the therapy. There are very few articles or books available that deal with the clinical implications of a therapist’s life changing health diagnosis and it’s impact on their clients and the therapy. I offer consultation to clinicians going through this experience and want to inform, process and continue to work with their clients while undergoing treatment or after treatment. I will help you determine how and what to share with your clients, how to build a new frame that will include your treatment and how to relationally understand and help your clients process their feelings, thoughts and fantasies related to you and your health. It is often a very painful and scary time for a clinician to have to share something so vulnerable about themselves with their clients. If it is done with thoughtful care, it can lead to a very rich therapist and client experience and healthy modeling of how one goes through a very difficult time consciously and compassionately.
I also offer consultation and supervision to clinicians who are working with clients, partners and couples impacted by the following issues: sexually compulsive behaviors, substance abuse, BFRBS, mood related disorders, codependency and patients dealing with life changing health crisis such as a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Finally, I have also had considerable experience in forensic psychology and with people who have difficulty stopping, controlling or changing their behaviors. For more information regarding this work, please visit the Pathways Institute website at https://pathwaysinstitute.info/
